Introduction
The MiningMart data processing and transformation system has a component-based architecture, where each component encapsulates some specific functionality such as a data source, transformation operator or visualization. Individual components can be visually linked within one workspace for solving different data transformation tasks. The MiningMart friendly user interface and flexible underlying component architecture provide a powerful integrated environment for executing typical data transformation tasks. In particular, the system is intended to solve the following tasks:
  • Sampling
  • Generation, extraction, and selection of features
  • Data cleaning
  • Model selection or tuning the hypothesis space

The screenshot of the system is shown in Fig. 1.

More information about the MiningMart approach can be found on the site http://mmart.cs.uni-dortmund.de/. The component architecture of the client and some the application server are described in more details on the page of SPIN! data mining system.
